What is ADRC?

The Coastal Bend Aging & Disability Resource Center known as an ADRC is a visible resource in the community that provides a coordinated system of information and access to long term services and supports for individuals, family members and providers, regardless of age, disability or income.

Due to the complex, fragmented and often duplicative intake, assessment and eligibility functions, ADRCs build on the strength of existing community agencies, such as Area Agencies on Aging, Centers for Independent Living, and Local Authorities. These partnerships help to provide a more coordinated system of information and access for all persons seeking long-term services and support. The coordinated partnerships help individuals navigate the system which helps minimize confusion, frustration, and helps enhance individual choice, and support informed decision making.

Through integration and coordination of existing aging and disability service systems, ADRC programs raise visibility about the full range of options that are available, provide objective information, referrals, and assistance, and empower to make informed decisions about their long term supports, and help access public and private long term supports and services programs.

The Coastal Bend Aging and Disability Resource Center serves the counties of; Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio.
